Reach for the Skylands
Visitors are transported into a wonderland of activities within these
five counties in northwest New Jersey, from skiing, hiking, and tubing to
exploring historical times. A must-see is the Morris County Visitors Center
for a glance at revolutionary times. Here are a few sites to take in during
one’s free time.
Morristown National Historic Park, HardingTownship – Take a trip
back in time and see where the American Continental Army spent two
winters during the RevolutionaryWar, as well as walking trails and historic

Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area – Known as the
largest recreational area in the eastern United States, there is plenty of
hiking, fishing, camping, and touring of this wealth of aboriginal and pre-

City of Lambertville – Nestled on the east bank of the Delaware River,
this quaint town is known as the “antique capitol of New Jersey,” where
you can find treasures, walk by Federal row homes, and visit Victorian historic

Gardens at Duke Farms, Hillsborough –Tour the scenic property that
belonged to legendary philanthropist Doris Duke. Visitors also can tour
the Duke family's Country Manor, stroll the outdoor Japanese garden, and
